Parfina is seeking a highly-skilled Senior Software Engineer (API) to join our dynamic team. This role will shape the technical direction of our engineering processes and provide backend architectural leadership. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, technical and non-technical stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable API solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design & Develop APIs:

  • Build and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance APIs using Node.js.

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of complex features, ensuring compliance with architectural standards.

• Collaborate Across Teams:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to break down requirements into user stories and tasks.

  • Partner with SRE teams to optimize deployment processes, monitor performance, and ensure reliability.

• Code Quality & Mentorship:

  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

• Troubleshooting & Optimization:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.

  • Apply performance optimization techniques to meet platform availability, reliability, scalability, and stability requirements.

• Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to our platform.

  • Refactor and optimize existing codebase for long-term maintainability.

  • Actively participate in Scrum rituals, including sprint planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
    

What You'll Need

• Experience & Expertise:

  • 5+ years in API development, with strong backend architecture and design skills.

  • Deep knowledge of Node.js, Python (Django), or similar backend technologies.

  • Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and access patterns.

  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design principles.

  • Proven experience implementing security best practices for RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and performance optimization.

  • Proficiency in testing frameworks and tools for backend services.

• Leadership & Communication:

  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent experience.
